Women’s Singles at CIBC PPA Tour Finals: In an unexpected shakeup ahead of the CIBC PPA Tour Finals, Jorja Johnson and Lacy Schneemann will step in to replace Brooke Buckner and Salome Devidze in women’s singles. Both Buckner and Devidze will miss the prestigious event due to injuries, making way for the two skilled competitors.
Johnson Takes Over Buckner’s Spot in Erne Pool
Johnson, the 18-year-old talent who earned bronze in women’s singles earlier this year at the Austin tournament, will replace Buckner in the Erne Pool. She will compete alongside heavy hitters like Catherine Parenteau, Kaitlyn Christian, and Mary Brascia.
This marks another milestone for Johnson, who joins an elite group of players—Parenteau, Anna Leigh Waters, Ben Johns, and Federico Staksrud—as the only athletes to qualify for the finals in singles, mixed doubles, and gender doubles.

Schneemann Fills Devidze’s Shoes in ATP Pool
Schneemann, another promising player, will replace Devidze in the ATP Pool, where she will square off against Waters, Kate Fahey, and Parris Todd. Schneemann’s standout performance earlier this year earned her a women’s singles bronze at the Veolia Houston Open, solidifying her place in the competition.
Doubles Duo Ready for Action
Both Johnson and Schneemann will also join forces this week in women’s doubles, adding a unique twist to their already busy schedules. The pair will look to make a splash on the court together, as play kicks off at 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, streaming on PickleballTV and PPA YouTube.
