Tournament Format and Rules

Amateur Events

The amateur format varies based on skill and age levels, ensuring all players, from beginners to highly skilled competitors, have a chance to show their talent.

The format for Skill Levels 5.0 & 4.5 will feature Double Elimination with No Come-Around, meaning once a team is eliminated, they cannot return to fight for the gold medal. However, those who make it to the consolation bracket still have a shot at winning bronze.

  • Main Draw: Best of 2/3 games to 11, win by 2
  • Consolation: One game to 15, win by 2
  • Bronze Medal Match: Best of 2/3 games to 11, win by 2
  • Gold Medal Match: Best of 2/3 games to 11, win by 2

In smaller brackets or pools (for Skill Levels 4.0, 3.5, and 3.0), the format switches to round robin with playoffs to determine the top players or teams. For tournaments with fewer than four teams or players, organizers reserve the right to combine events based on skill or age.

Professional Events

In the pro category, the format shifts to Single Elimination, with the semifinal losers battling it out for bronze in an additional match. The Gold Medal Match follows the same 2/3 games to 11, win by 2 format.

  • Main Draw Format: Single Elimination, 2/3 games to 11, win by 2
  • Gold Medal Match: Best of 2/3 games to 11, win by 2

As with the amateur side, adverse weather can lead to shortened match formats, depending on how scheduling is affected.
