Amateur Play – Competing Alongside the Professionals
Amateurs will have the chance to play on the same courts as professional players. Pickleball Tournament Format for Amateurs
Skill Levels 5.0 & 4.5 will play under a Double Elimination with No Come-Around format. This means once a team loses, they are only eligible for a bronze medal and cannot come back for a chance at gold.
- Main Draw: 2/3 games to 11, win by 2
- Consolation: 1 game to 15, win by 2
- Bronze Medal Match: 2/3 games to 11, win by 2
- Gold Medal Match: 2/3 games to 11, win by 2
For Skill Levels 4.0, 3.5, & 3.0 with 12 teams or fewer, round robin with playoffs will be used to determine winners.
- Pool Play: 1 game to 15, win by 2
- Playoffs: 1 game to 15, win by 2
If fewer than 4 teams or players are registered in a specific event, those brackets may be combined to ensure a robust competitive experience.
Pro Format
For professional players, the Main Draw will be single elimination with 2/3 games to 11, and the Gold Medal Match will follow the same format. Notably, there will be no Bonus or Back Draw, and PPA Points will not be awarded in the event.
- Semi-Final Losers: Compete for the Bronze medal in a 2/3 match to 11, win by 2.

Partner and Payment Policy
Players must ensure their registration is confirmed by paying the event fee and registering a partner. If a partner does not register within 7 days of the initial player registration, that spot will be moved to the waitlist.
- Partner Replacement: Players who lose their partner after registration must replace them with someone already registered. All changes must be communicated by 6 p.m. the day before the event.
Weather and Inclement Conditions
Since the pickleball tournament is held outdoors, the PPA will work to ensure matches are played even in the event of weather disruptions. If weather causes delays, match formats may be shortened or altered to accommodate the schedule.
