JOOLA Responds to Paddle Testing Changes: JOOLA, a leading manufacturer of pickleball paddles, is making headlines again as the USAP (USA Pickleball) announced a new paddle testing sweep. The JOOLA Perseus 14mm Mod TA-15 and JOOLA Perseus 16mm Mod TA-15 paddles are now ineligible for certification and will be removed from sanctioned play starting July 1, 2025.
JOOLA’s Commitment to Standards
In response to the USAP announcement, JOOLA took to Instagram to announce the retirement of the MOD TA-15 Perseus as one of its competition paddles.
“The new guidelines state that any paddle previously testing greater than 0.44 in the PB-CoR test will no longer be eligible for use in USAP-sanctioned events.” – (JOOLA)
JOOLA emphasized that this decision aligns with its commitment to uphold and meet current industry standards, highlighting that it is in the best interest of the sport.
As a result of these changes, the production of new MOD TA-15 paddles has ceased. However, the paddles will still be available for purchase while supplies last.

New Developments in Paddle Technology
To address the changes in certification, JOOLA plans to launch a new Pro Series of paddles in March 2025. These paddles will meet the new testing standards set by the UPA-A and USAP. This proactive step demonstrates JOOLA’s intent to remain a key player in the competitive pickleball equipment market.
Additionally, customers who purchased a JOOLA Mod TA-15 Perseus between November 1, 2024, and March 1, 2025, will benefit from JOOLA’s Paddle Refresh Program. This program offers a 50% discount on a Pro 4 Perseus Paddle, making it more accessible for players to upgrade to compliant equipment.
Future of Pickleball Equipment
The new JOOLA Pro 4 Perseus dual-certified paddles will be eligible for play in all PPA (Professional Pickleball Association), MLP (Major League Pickleball), and USAP-sanctioned events in 2025. This ensures that players can rely on JOOLA’s new offerings to compete at the highest levels.
The recent paddle testing changes highlight the ongoing evolution in the sport of pickleball. By adapting to these standards, JOOLA not only demonstrates its commitment to quality but also supports the integrity of competitive play. As players transition to the new equipment, JOOLA’s initiatives will likely shape the future landscape of paddle technology in pickleball.
