Pickleball Players Battle for National Championship: More than 145 pickleball players from across the country gathered in Overland Park, Kansas, this week for the USA Pickleball Golden Ticket Tournament. The 5-day event, held at Serv, featured over 200 matches and gave winners a chance to advance to the 2025 national championships in San Diego.
The tournament drew large crowds to Serv, a popular local venue that mixes sports and entertainment. Spectators enjoyed the matches while also visiting four restaurants inside the complex. The mix of food, drinks, and sunshine added to the excitement of the event.
A Big Event in the Midwest
The Overland Park tournament was the only Golden Ticket event in the Midwest region. There are around 14 other tournaments like it across the country. Players traveled from different states for a chance to win and move one step closer to competing professionally.
Fans gathered in big numbers to watch skilled amateur players battle it out on the courts. The tournament began on Wednesday and continued through the weekend, making it one of the largest amateur pickleball events in the Kansas City area.
Facility Offers More Than Just Games
Serv, the tournament location, is known for its mix of sports and dining.
“I feel like this is Overland Park’s number one entertainment complex. We have pickleball and amphitheater, food and beverage, dining hall, food and beverage, courtyard — we have it all,” said Dane Haller, Serv Director of Marketing.
