USA Pickleball Greenlights Ripple V2 Paddle: USA Pickleball has announced that the Ripple V2 paddle from Ronbus Corporation has officially met all testing rules and is fully approved for use. This update comes after earlier versions failed certification. All earlier Ripple models will be removed from the approved list starting July 1, 2025.
What Happened with the Ripple Paddle
In late 2024, Ronbus Corporation sent a prototype of the Ripple.R1.14 PBCoR.43 paddle to USA Pickleball for early testing. That first version passed. But later models made for sale did not meet the PBCoR standards and failed certification.
Ronbus then worked closely with the USAP to fix the issues. Their new version, the Ripple V2, has now passed all tests and is ready for launch this month.
It meets the standards for USA Pickleball and PBCoR approval. USA Pickleball will take all earlier Ripple paddles off its approved list starting July 1, 2025, to avoid confusion in the market.
Statement from Ronbus Corporation
Dr. Dong Li, the founder of Ronbus Corporation, also spoke about the update.
“After significant work in our factory lab to replicate and calibrate the PBCoR test, our Ripple V2 paddle has received full USAP PBCoR.43 approval for its three shapes: R1.14, R2.14, and R4.14. We truly appreciate USAP’s assistance and support throughout this process, which has been invaluable in ensuring our paddles consistently meet legal limits.” – (Dr. Dong Li)
“Furthermore, we’ve gone beyond the current requirements by conducting Accelerated Break In (ABI) testing, confirming that our paddles remain within legal standards even after this rigorous process.” – (Dr. Dong Li)
Dr. Dong Li also thanked the Ronbus community.
“We also want to express our gratitude to all our xPRO and Ronbus Connect members who participated in our extensive Ripple beta testing. We are pleased to offer a Ripple Refresh program to our participating members who purchased and still own the Beta Ripple. This program will provide an opportunity to upgrade to the latest Ripple V2 at a special reduced price. More details on this program will follow shortly.” – (Dr. Dong Li)
What This Means for Pickleball Players
This update helps keep the game fair by making sure all paddles meet the same standards. It also shows that paddle makers like Ronbus are willing to improve and work with USA Pickleball.
Players using older Ripple models will need to switch to a newer version by July 1, 2025. The new Ripple V2 paddle is now approved and ready for players.
