USA Pickleball Unveils Free Toolkit: USA Pickleball has announced that its Youth Pickleball Provider (YPP) resource center is now free for all members. The digital toolkit is designed to help anyone teaching kids ages 8 to 18 learn and enjoy pickleball. The goal is to support schools, camps, and community programs across the country.
This move comes just in time for summer camps and after-school program planning. USA Pickleball hopes to make it easier for organizations to introduce the sport to young players without added costs. The free tools are available online to all members starting immediately.
What’s Included in the Toolkit
The YPP toolkit offers several resources to help coaches, teachers, and program leaders:
- Lesson Plans: 20 total lessons—10 for ages 8 to 12, and 10 for ages 13 to 18—focus on learning through play.
- Video Series: A six-part video guide shares games, play ideas, and tips for managing young players.
- Playbook: The “Let’s Play Pickleball” guide is made for teachers and leaders to help run programs in any setting.
- Extras: Printable game cards, access to Pickleball Magazine, and newsletters are also included.
These materials are made to help people lead fun, safe, and simple pickleball sessions. They are meant for use in schools, parks, and after-school programs.
Support from USA Pickleball
USA Pickleball leaders believe this change will make a real difference. “These resources are incredibly valuable, especially for organizations planning summer camps or after-school activities,” said Hana Papaco, Director of Recreational and Collegiate Engagement at USA Pickleball.
“We are thrilled to provide this free resource to make it easier than ever for program leaders to offer high-quality, fun, and safe pickleball experiences for kids.” – (Hana Papaco)
Why This Matters
Pickleball is growing fast, especially with young players. By making training materials free, USA Pickleball is helping more kids try the sport. Community leaders and teachers can now start programs without worrying about the cost of instruction tools.
This could lead to more schools and local groups adding pickleball to their activities. The free toolkit gives programs everything they need to begin. It also helps make the sport more welcoming and available to everyone.
