Macon-Bibb to Host Georgia State Pickleball Championship: A Thrilling Showdown Awaits

Georgia State Pickleball Championship: From September 13 to 15, 2024, the Tattnall Square Pickleball Center in Macon-Bibb County will once again be the epicenter of pickleball competition as it hosts the Georgia Recreation and Park Association’s (GRPA) State Pickleball Championship. This marks the third consecutive year that the facility will serve as the venue for this prestigious event.

The tournament is set to draw players from across Georgia, offering them a platform to showcase their skills and compete for the state championship title. Bobby Walker, Macon-Bibb County’s Tennis & Pickleball Manager, emphasizes the significance of the event.

“This is a chance for people to test their skills against players from around the state…and maybe even be named state champion by the end of the weekend!” – (Bobby Walker)

Mayor Lester Miller shows Macon-Bibb’s growing prominence in the pickleball community, noting,

The state championship will feature singles matches on September 13, gender doubles on September 14, and mixed doubles on September 15. The competition is open to all Georgia residents, with no prior tournament qualification required. Players can register at www.pickleballbrackets.com, with the entry deadline set for Wednesday, September 4. Lunch will be provided for participants on Saturday.
