Set amidst the scenery of St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, this tournament offers participants not just the thrill of competitive pickleball but also an island getaway filled with relaxation and adventure. With opportunities for snorkeling, beach lounging, and boat rentals, this event has something for everyone.

Last year’s pickleball event made history as the first USA Pickleball-sanctioned tournament in the Virgin Islands. Tournament organizers were praised for their efforts, with officials noting that it was the most impressive first-time event they had seen. Building on that success, this year’s tournament promises to be even more exciting, featuring:

  • Competitive pickleball matches
  • Raffles, entertainment, and clinics
  • Swag bags for every participant
  • Special guests and surprises throughout the event

The first 25 paid registrations will also receive a complimentary 2024 tournament t-shirt, adding an extra incentive for early sign-ups.

Tournament Format and Rules

The STYC Pickleball Open 2024 will follow a round-robin format with divisions for men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles across three skill levels. Though the pickleball tournament is no-referee sanctioned, certified USA Pickleball referees will be on-site to assist with any player inquiries and handle on-court issues if needed.

  • All players must be members of USA Pickleball to participate.
  • Last year’s event featured six referees, which was a highlight for players and added professionalism to the event.

The tournament director retains the right to combine or adjust brackets if necessary, based on registration numbers. However, awards will be based on original divisions, ensuring fair competition regardless of adjustments.
