His performance earned him a spot on the Boston Red Sox’s 40-man roster in June 2025, marking his promotion to the major leagues. However, he was designated for assignment shortly after without making an appearance.
On June 14, 2025, Brian Van Belle was traded to the Cincinnati Reds, where he was optioned to the Triple-A Louisville Bats. He continued to showcase his skills, accumulating a 4.95 ERA with 31 strikeouts across 36+1⁄3 innings pitched in seven appearances. Later in July 2025, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays, where he achieved a 3-0 record and a 2.04 ERA in three starts for the Triple-A Durham Bulls before being promoted to the major leagues once again.
