Early Life and Background
Brooke Bryant was born on August 22, 2000, in Stockton, California. Growing up, there was no girls’ hockey team in San Joaquin County, so she joined the Stockton Colts boys’ team at Oak Park Ice Arena. To further her hockey career, she joined the Anaheim Lady Ducks girls’ hockey program while attending Linden High School in Linden, California. With the Anaheim Lady Ducks U19 team, she became the top scorer and helped the team secure third place at the USA National Championship. In addition to hockey, she played softball and volleyball in high school, earning four varsity letters in each sport.
Path to Hockey
After developing her skills with the Anaheim Lady Ducks, Brooke Bryant played five seasons for the Minnesota State Mavericks from 2018 to 2023. During her freshman year in 2018–19, she appeared in all 35 games, recording 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points. This achievement made her the first freshman to record 20 points in a season since 2010–11 and placed her eighth among freshmen in Minnesota State history. In her sophomore season, she played in all 37 games, contributing four goals and four assists. Her junior year was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but she still managed to appear in 18 games, recording four assists. She was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team in both her junior and senior years.
