Cooper Marody was born in Brighton, Michigan, to Patrick and Lisa Marody. He attended St. Patrick School in Brighton before moving on to St. Mary’s Preparatory School in Orchard Lake Village, where he honed his skills in hockey. During his freshman year, he played for the junior varsity team and quickly advanced to the varsity team, showcasing his talent early on. Marody made his professional debut on April 11, 2018, and scored his first professional goal the following day.
