Daijahn Nyckell Anthony (born September 9, 2000) is an American professional football safety for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Shepherd Rams, Liberty Flames, and Ole Miss Rebels before being selected by the Bengals in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL draft.
Early Life and Background
Daijahn Anthony was born in Richmond, Virginia. He attended Henrico High School, where he first developed his passion for football. During his time at Henrico, Anthony showcased his skills on the field, which led to his commitment to play college football.
Path to American Football
Anthony began his collegiate career at Shepherd University in 2019, where he played as a freshman. In his first season, he participated in ten games, starting five, and recorded 14 tackles, three pass deflections, and two interceptions. However, the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which prompted him to enter the NCAA transfer portal after the season.
Following his time at Shepherd, Anthony transferred to Liberty University, where he continued to excel on the field. During his two years with the Liberty Flames in 2021 and 2022, he played in 21 games, accumulating 41 tackles, six pass deflections, and three interceptions. After the 2022 season, he again entered the transfer portal, this time joining the Ole Miss Rebels.
