Renouf’s performance with the Griffins led to his recall by the Red Wings on March 26, 2017. He made his NHL debut the following night against the Carolina Hurricanes, where he recorded one shot on goal and three hits in 13:35 of ice time. Despite his promising start, Renouf was not tendered a qualifying offer by the Red Wings after his entry-level contract ended.

Breakthrough (2018–2022)

Following his time with the Red Wings, Renouf signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on July 2, 2018. He spent the 2018-2019 season with the Charlotte Checkers, where he played a significant role on the blue line, contributing 2 goals and 22 points in 74 regular season games. Renouf’s efforts helped the Checkers win the Calder Cup, marking his first AHL championship. In July 2019, he signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Colorado Avalanche, further establishing his presence in the league.
