Dion Acoff was born in Fontana, California. He attended Damien High School, where he was recognized for his talent in soccer and was named to the 2009 Parade All-America High School Soccer Team. At Creighton University, Acoff played for the men’s soccer team from 2009 to 2011. During his time there, he appeared in 58 games, scoring five goals and providing 16 assists.
