Early Life and Background

Dylan Gambrell was born on August 26, 1996, in Bonney Lake, Washington. Growing up, he was introduced to hockey through his father’s background in roller hockey. This early exposure to the sport laid the foundation for his future career. At the age of 14, Gambrell moved to Colorado to further develop his skills, playing junior hockey with the Colorado Thunderbirds in the T1EHL at the under-16 level. Although he did not score in his first three games, he quickly made a name for himself in the AHL, playing for the San Jose Barracuda. During the 2018–19 season, he registered 20 goals and 45 points in 51 games, showcasing his potential as a valuable player.

In October 2021, Gambrell was traded to the Ottawa Senators after spending three seasons with the San Jose Sharks.
