Emma C. Sears Bio
Emma C. Sears (born February 23, 2001) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Racing Louisville FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States women’s national soccer team. A former Ohio State Buckeye, Sears entered the professional ranks in 2024 when she was drafted by Louisville in the second round of the NWSL Draft. Within two seasons she developed into one of the league’s most productive American attackers and earned her first cap for the senior national team in late 2024.

Early Career (2019–2023)
Sears played youth soccer for Ohio Premier and attended Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin, Ohio, where she was a four-year letterwinner and a three-year starter on the girls’ soccer team. She was named first team All-Ohio after both her junior and senior seasons, establishing herself as one of the top attacking prospects in the state before committing to Ohio State University.
From 2019 through 2023, Sears featured in 83 matches for the Ohio State Buckeyes across five college seasons. She scored 25 goals and tallied 15 assists, with her strike against Bucknell University in extra time of the first round of the 2022 NCAA tournament standing out as a signature moment. In 2025, Sears elevated her game and became the heartbeat of Louisville’s attack. Sears was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey to Robin and Lindsay Sears and spent parts of her childhood in England and Laguna Beach, California before her family settled in Dublin, Ohio. Her twin sister, Bronwen Sears, played collegiate soccer for the Miami RedHawks, giving the family a clear sporting connection through the women’s college game.
Personal Life
Outside of professional soccer, Sears completed a health science degree at Ohio State University in 2023 and has continued to build her professional career in Louisville under contracts that now run through the 2028 NWSL season.
