After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, Eugene Omoruyi signed a two-way contract with the Dallas Mavericks on August 13, 2021. He split his time with their G League affiliate, the Texas Legends. Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to a season-ending injury in December 2021, leading to his release from the Mavericks shortly after.
Breakthrough (2022–2023)
Following his time with the Mavericks, Omoruyi signed a two-way contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder on July 2, 2022. His performance earned him a multi-year deal in February 2023. However, he was waived later that month. On March 3, 2023, he signed a 10-day contract with the Detroit Pistons, which was extended twice, culminating in a rest-of-season contract.
