Jalen Reeves-Maybin Bio
Jalen Ahmad Reeves-Maybin (born January 31, 1995) is an American professional football linebacker and special teamer. He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Reeves-Maybin has served as president of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) since 2024. Reeves-Maybin has extensively played on special teams units throughout his career and was selected to his first Pro Bowl and his first All-Pro team in 2023 as a special teamer.
Early Life and Background
Jalen Reeves-Maybin was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, to LaDawn Reeves and Marques Maybin. He attended Northeast High School, where he played football and contributed as a quarterback. During his senior year, he gained over 2,000 rushing yards and was named an All-State selection on defense in 2012 by the Tennessee Sports Writers. His high school performance laid the foundation for his future in football. After high school, Reeves-Maybin committed to play college football at the University of Tennessee under head coach Butch Jones.

At the University of Tennessee, Jalen Reeves-Maybin made an immediate impact as a true freshman in 2013, standing out on special teams with a team-best 11 tackles. He played in 11 games that season, rotating between linebacker and defensive back. By his sophomore year, he had established himself as a starter, finishing the season with 101 tackles.
