Katherine Grace Asman (born May 19, 2000) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for USL Super League club Lexington SC, on loan from the Orlando Pride. She played college soccer for the Penn State Nittany Lions and was selected by Portland Thorns FC in the third round of the 2024 NWSL Draft.
Early Life and Background
Katherine Grace Asman was born and raised in Roswell, Georgia. She began playing soccer at a young age, starting in goal around the age of eight or nine. Asman attended Roswell High School, where she played soccer and also competed at the club level with Tophat Soccer Club. Her early exposure to the sport laid the foundation for her future career in soccer.

Asman played college soccer for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2019 to 2023. After redshirting her freshman year, she served as an understudy to Amanda Dennis during the 2018 season. Asman began her collegiate career with the Penn State Nittany Lions in 2019. She became the first-choice goalkeeper during her redshirt junior season in fall 2021, making 63 saves with 3 shutouts in 21 games. In 2022, she achieved a career-high of 84 saves and kept 9 clean sheets, helping her team win another Big Ten championship.
Breakthrough (2024)
Katherine Asman’s professional career began when she was selected 39th overall by Portland Thorns FC in the third round of the 2024 NWSL Draft. She signed a one-year contract with a mutual option for an additional year. However, she did not make any appearances during the 2024 season behind established starters. Subsequently, her contract was not renewed.
