Katie Lind Bio
Kathleen Camille Lind (née Naughton; born February 15, 1994) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a center back. She played college soccer for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before being selected by the Chicago Red Stars in the 2016 NWSL College Draft. She spent four seasons with Chicago, including loan spells to Australian clubs Adelaide United and Perth Glory, before joining the Houston Dash in 2020. With the Dash, Lind contributed to a 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup victory.

Kathleen Camille Lind was born in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. She grew up in a supportive family, with her father, Tom Naughton, and her mother, Claire Naughton, encouraging her athletic pursuits. Lind attended Elk Grove High School, where she began to develop her skills in soccer, playing for the Chicago Sockers FC during her youth. Her early exposure to the sport laid the foundation for her future career in soccer.

Lind’s dedication to soccer continued through her high school years, leading her to play for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2012 to 2015. Lind was selected by the Chicago Red Stars as the nineteenth selection in the second round of the 2016 NWSL College Draft. She made her professional debut with the team and scored her first career NWSL goal on June 24, 2018, in a match against the Utah Royals FC. During her time with the Red Stars, she also had loan spells with Australian clubs Adelaide United and Perth Glory, which helped her gain valuable international experience.
Breakthrough (2020–2025)
In January 2020, Lind was traded to the Houston Dash, where she made her debut on June 30, 2020, contributing to the team’s successful campaign in the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup. She scored her first goal for the Dash in June 2021, securing a game-winning victory over the Kansas City Current. Lind has made 79 NWSL regular season appearances for the Dash and is set to retire from professional soccer at the end of the 2025 season.
