Laurent Dauphin is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was selected in the second round, 39th overall, by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2013 NHL entry draft. Dauphin has also previously played for the Montreal Canadiens.

Early Life and Background

Laurent Dauphin was born on March 27, 1995, in Repentigny, Quebec, Canada. Growing up in a hockey-centric culture, he was exposed to the sport at a young age. As a youth, he participated in the 2007 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Lanaudière Ouest. His early experiences in hockey laid the foundation for his future career. Dauphin later played with the Collège Esther-Blondin Phénix of the Ligue de hockey Midget AAA du Québec (QMAAA), where he made history by becoming the first player in franchise history to record 100 points. His performance earned him the MVP award at the 2012 Telus Cup.

Path to Hockey

Following his success in the QMAAA, Laurent Dauphin spent three seasons in major junior hockey with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). On June 23, 2017, Dauphin was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. Less than a year later, he was traded back to the Arizona Coyotes, marking his second tenure with the organization.
