Lavonte David Bio
Lavonte Lamar David (born January 23, 1990) is an American former professional football linebacker who spent his entire 14-season career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Selected in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft, David earned three All-Pro selections, one Pro Bowl invitation and a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers. He is widely regarded as one of the most productive linebackers of his era.
Early Life and Background
Lavonte Lamar David was born on January 23, 1990, in Miami, Florida. He attended Miami Northwestern High School, where he played alongside several future college and NFL players, including Marcus Forston, Jacory Harris, Sean Spence and Tommy Streeter. Under head coach Billy Rolle, Northwestern won back-to-back Florida state championships in 2006 and 2007, and the program was listed as mythical national champions by USA Today in 2007.
Despite the program’s success, David was regarded as only a two-star recruit by Rivals.com and drew limited major-college attention. David enrolled at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas, where he quickly became a defensive cornerstone. David elevated his game in 2013, posting 145 tackles, a career-high seven sacks, five interceptions, two forced fumbles and a safety en route to First-team All-Pro honors.
