Lucas Bartlett was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where he made a name for himself as a four-year varsity starter on the soccer team. During his senior year, he earned accolades such as the Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year and NSCAA All-American honors, along with being recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year in Kansas. After his successful high school career, Lucas Bartlett committed to playing college soccer at Loyola University Chicago in 2016. Lucas Bartlett began his professional career in 2018 when he played for Kaw Valley FC in the USL League Two. In January 2022, he was selected 6th overall in the MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas, officially signing with the team later that month.
