Breakthrough (2023-2024)
In 2023, Church was invited to major league spring training as a non-roster player, a significant opportunity for a young pitcher. He returned to Frisco to begin the season but was soon promoted to the Round Rock Express of the Triple-A Pacific Coast League after posting a 4.00 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 18 innings. At Round Rock, he excelled, achieving a 7–1 record and a 3.48 ERA over 44 innings. On November 14, 2023, the Texas Rangers added Church to their 40-man roster, protecting him from the Rule 5 draft.
