Michelle Alozie was born on April 28, 1997, in La Jolla, California, to Nigerian parents from Imo State, Nigeria. She was raised in Apple Valley, California, where she attended Granite Hills High School. During her high school years, Alozie was actively involved in soccer, which laid the foundation for her future career in the sport.
Path to Soccer
Alozie’s soccer journey began at a young age, playing for the Granite Hills Cougars from 2011 to 2014. She continued her soccer career at Yale University, where she played for the Yale Bulldogs from 2015 to 2018. Unfortunately, her senior season was marred by a torn anterior cruciate ligament, which required her to transfer as a graduate to the University of Tennessee to continue her playing career with the Tennessee Volunteers.

Alozie registered for the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft but was not selected. In January 2020, she signed a contract with BIIK Kazygurt, the defending champions of the Kazakhstani women’s football championship. She trained with the team for three months before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading her to return to California.
Breakthrough (2021-2025)
In 2021, Alozie joined the Houston Dash as a preseason trialist. She was signed to a national team replacement contract during the season and later secured a full contract in August 2021. Alozie made a significant impact during the 2022 season, making her first postseason start in the Dash’s NWSL Playoffs appearance. In December 2022, she signed a two-year contract extension with the Dash, where she made a total of 80 appearances across all competitions. On December 23, 2025, Alozie was traded to the Chicago Stars in exchange for $40,000 in NWSL allocation money. She subsequently signed a three-year contract with the Stars, set to run through 2028.
