He grew up in the Onondaga Nation, raised by his mother Doloris, an Onondaga, and his father Jerome Thompson, a Mohawk from Akwesasne. Miles is one of five children, including brothers Jeremy, Lyle, and Jerome Jr. (Hiana). His early exposure to lacrosse came from his family’s rich cultural background, which emphasizes the sport as a significant part of their heritage. Miles attended LaFayette High School, located outside of Syracuse, New York, where he excelled in the lacrosse program, showcasing his talent and passion for the game.
