Nate Lynn Bio

Nate Lynn is an American professional football linebacker for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the William & Mary Tribe and was signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2024. Known for his impressive size and athleticism, Lynn has quickly made a name for himself in the competitive world of professional football.

Early Life and Background

Nate Lynn was born on July 6, 2002. Growing up, he was always larger than his peers, which allowed him to compete against older players from a young age. At the age of 11, he expressed concerns to his mother about his toughness when facing older boys. In response, she devised a training exercise where he had to push her in a desk chair across a distance of 25 yards repeatedly. This exercise proved effective, as the next day he was able to dominate his opponents on the field. Lynn attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School, where he had limited playing time and was ranked as a zero-star recruit. He later transferred to Zebulon B. Vance High School in North Carolina for his senior year, where he excelled, recording 61 tackles, 21 tackles-for-loss, and 14 sacks, helping his team reach the state championship game. His performance earned him an invitation to the Blue–Grey All-American Bowl, and he committed to play college football for the William & Mary Tribe, one of only three schools that offered him a scholarship.

Path to American Football

Nate Lynn’s college career began at William & Mary in 2019, where he played in all 12 games as a freshman, recording 14 tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss. His sophomore season in the spring of 2021 saw him play in three games, making seven tackles, a tackle-for-loss, and a pass breakup. However, it was during his redshirt-sophomore year in the fall of 2021 that Lynn truly shined. He posted impressive statistics, including 52 tackles, 13.5 tackles-for-loss, 12 sacks, and six forced fumbles. His outstanding performance earned him recognition as a first-team FCS All-American and first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association. In the following year, Lynn continued to excel, being named first-team All-CAA and third-team All-American, with 61 tackles, 13 tackles-for-loss, eight sacks, and four forced fumbles. In his final collegiate season, he served as team captain and recorded 58 tackles, 11 tackles-for-loss, and eight sacks, earning first-team All-CAA and second-team All-American honors, along with being a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award. He concluded his college career with a school-record 12 forced fumbles and second in team history with 28 sacks.

He made a strong impression during training camp and in one preseason game, showcasing his skills and potential. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ligament in his shoulder, which sidelined him for the entire season as he was placed on injured reserve. Despite this setback, Lynn returned to the Lions in 2025 and was recognized as one of the standout performers during training camp.

Breakthrough (2025)

On August 26, 2025, Nate Lynn was waived by the Detroit Lions as part of the final roster cuts. However, his journey did not end there. On November 10, 2025, he was signed to the Tennessee Titans’ practice squad, marking a new chapter in his professional career. This opportunity with the Titans allows him to continue developing his skills and potentially make an impact on the field in the upcoming seasons.
