Pietra Adao Tordin is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Portland Thorns FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). She played college soccer for the Princeton Tigers, earning third-team All-American honors. Born in the United States to Brazilian parents, Tordin was briefly a youth international for Brazil before switching to the United States. She won bronze with the United States at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Early Life and Background
Pietra Tordin was born and raised in Doral, Florida, a suburb of Miami. Growing up, she played soccer on boys’ teams due to the lack of nearby teams for girls. At the age of 14, she joined a girls’ team that required a 40-minute commute. While attending Doral Academy, Tordin took a break from soccer for a year but later returned to play for her high school team and the ECNL club Sunrise Prime FC.

Tordin became a starter for the Princeton Tigers during her freshman season in 2022, leading the team in scoring with eight goals in 17 games. This achievement made her the first freshman top scorer for Princeton since Tyler Lussi in 2013, earning her the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and second-team All-Ivy honors.
