Topi Niemelä is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Malmö Redhawks of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Niemelä was drafted 64th overall by the Maple Leafs in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Following a successful breakout year in the Liiga with Oulun Kärpät, Niemelä joined the Maple Leafs' AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, and later decided to continue his career in Sweden.
