Born in Moline, Illinois, John Cincola was active in multiple sports during his youth, including basketball, tennis, and golf. He eventually focused on tennis, playing at the Division I level for the University of Illinois at Chicago. After college, he dedicated over 15 years to coaching tennis, working primarily with high-level junior players. In 2018, encouraged by his parents, Cincola tried pickleball and quickly became passionate about the sport.
