Mattias Ekholm is a Swedish professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Born on 24 May 1990 in Borlänge, Sweden, he developed through the Swedish hockey system with Mora IK and Brynäs IF, where he earned the 2010–11 Elitserien Rookie of the Year award and the Börje Salming Award. Selected 102nd overall by the Nashville Predators in 2009, he spent over a decade in Nashville before being traded to Edmonton in February 2023.
