Megan Fudge, originally from Germany, attended school in England, where she achieved national recognition by winning the national championships in her senior year. She later became a standout at the University of Illinois, competing at the DI level where she played #1 singles and doubles. Megan reached the top 50 in singles and top 25 in the ITA national doubles rankings. Over her college career, she earned four All-Conference honors and was named Team MVP four times.
During her senior year, she was awarded the prestigious Cissy Leary Regional Sportsmanship Award for leading her team to a top 25 finish.
Megan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and Communications, before beginning her coaching career with her husband, Ryler DeHeart, a current member of MLP’s Chicago Slice. Together, they run an academy in Seminole, FL. Megan and Ryler have two children, Lily and JR, and often travel across the country to tournaments in their RV. Megan has participated in 33 professional pickleball tournaments and played in a total of 391 pro matches as of November 2024.
