Patrick Kawka was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is the youngest of three children, with two older sisters, Monika and Veronica. His parents, Mark and Elizabeth Kawka, immigrated from Poland to the United States in the 1980s. Patrick’s father introduced him to tennis and coached him until he was 14 years old. He attended Brigham Young University (BYU) from 2010 to 2013 and again from 2015 to 2016, majoring in geography. During his time at BYU, Kawka achieved an impressive singles record of 85–27, making him one of the most successful players in the program’s history. He received accolades such as Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year in 2011 and WCC Singles Player of the Year in 2013.
