Urho Vaakanainen is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the New York Rangers of the NHL. Drafted 18th overall by the Boston Bruins in 2017, he began his professional career in Finland’s Liiga with the Espoo Blues, JYP Jyväskylä, and SaiPa before moving to North America. He spent four seasons in the Bruins organization, appeared in 68 games for the Anaheim Ducks in 2023–24, and was traded to New York in December 2024.
