Veronica Burton is an American professional basketball player competing for the Golden State Valkyries of the WNBA and for Mist of Unrivaled. A 5-foot-9 point guard, she gained recognition at Northwestern, where she became a three-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and earned WBCA Defensive Player of the Year honors before being selected seventh overall by the Dallas Wings in the 2022 WNBA draft. After stints with Dallas and the Connecticut Sun, Burton was selected by the Valkyries in the 2024 expansion draft and won WNBA Most Improved Player in 2025, when she posted the first 24-point, 14-assist, zero-turnover game in league history. She also won a WNBL championship with the Bendigo Spirit in 2025 and a gold medal with Team USA at the 2021 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup.
