San Diego Legion
Team Information
The San Diego Legion was an American professional rugby union team based in San Diego, California. Founded in 2017, the team competed in Major League Rugby (MLR) from 2018 until 2025. They played their home matches mainly at Torero Stadium, with plans to move to Snapdragon Stadium in 2023 before returning to Torero Stadium by 2024. The Legion were one of the founding teams of MLR and reached the league championship finals twice, finishing as runners-up in both 2019 and 2023. In July 2025, the team merged with Rugby Football Club Los Angeles to form a new franchise, the California Legion.
