Having already captured three singles titles out of his last four appearances, Haworth advanced to the final in commanding fashion. He faced a tough test in the quarterfinals against No.8 seed Zane Ford, needing three games to secure his win.
However, Haworth showed his dominance in the semifinals by defeating No.12 seed Eric Oncins with a decisive 15-4, 15-4 victory. The ease with which Haworth dispatched his opponent in rally scoring is equivalent to an 11-1, 11-2 win in traditional scoring—an impressive feat.
