First, the SoCal Hard Eights traded their third pick to Miami for the fifth pick and an undisclosed amount of money. This move allowed Miami to grab Bobbi Oshiro with the third pick, replacing Rianna Valdes, who will join Milan Rane, her usual partner in the tournament. Oshiro, known for her successful partnerships and three professional medals, joins Roscoe Bellamy and Eric Oncins on the Miami team. She aims to bring her winning experience to Miami’s matches.
The Hard Eights then traded the fifth pick to Bay Area Breakers for the ninth pick and more undisclosed money. Bay Area quickly used this opportunity to pick Jill Braverman, filling the gap left by Rachel Rettger. Braverman joins Collin Shick and Patrick Kawka in Bay Area’s lineup, strengthening their position near the top of the Challenger Level standings. This is the second big move that Bay Area has executed during the first waiver period of the year after trading Vivian Glozman to the D.C. Pickleball Team in exchange for Allyce Jones and $100,000 on Thursday.
