Ben Johns Takes Over Noe Khlif’s Challenge to Advance in PPA Atlanta Slam

Ben Johns Takes Over Noe Khlif’s Challenge: In the men’s singles Round of 32 at the PPA Atlanta Slam, the No. 2 seed Ben Johns secured his place in the Round of 16 with a straight-sets victory over No. 29 seed Noe Khlif, 11-2, 12-10. Although Johns dominated the first game, Khlif made a notable comeback in the second, testing Johns more than he had in the opening frame.

Khlif’s Strong Second Game

Noe Khlif, the rising French star, struggled to find his rhythm in the first game, which Johns won convincingly. However, Khlif’s performance improved significantly in the second game, where he pushed Johns to the limit. Despite the challenge, Johns managed to maintain his composure and close out the match in two games.

Johns on Khlif’s Performance

During the post-match press conference, Johns praised Khlif’s play, highlighting the Frenchman’s impressive skills.

“I feel like he’s got good touch and hits some really good drop volleys. His drop volleys put him at an upper hand in the cat and mouse to start with because you’re kind of running in to chase it down.” – (Johns)

He expressed enthusiasm about Khlif’s style, noting that it’s a tactic not commonly used and can be effective.

“I love to see that style because I think it’s a style that still works really well since not too many people play it, so I’m looking forward to playing him some more, and hopefully he keeps that up because it’s going to get him some wins.” – (Johns)

Looking Ahead

With this victory, Johns advances to the Round of 16, where he will face No. 50 Grayson Goldin. Johns will be looking to continue his strong form and advance further in the tournament.
