Anna Leigh Waters Reaches PPA Semis: In a dominant display of skill and composure, top seed Anna Leigh Waters cruised past fifth-seed Salome Devidze in their singles match at the PPA Atlanta Slam. Waters Reflects on Victory

In reflecting on the match, Waters shared her thoughts on the competitive dynamics of facing Devidze.

“It’s kind of cool to have some revenge, go out there, really want to win and maybe take a little pressure off yourself because she did beat me earlier in the year.” – (Waters)

She acknowledged the challenges posed by Devidze’s aggressive play.

“She’s a great player. You can’t underestimate her. That’s one reason I did lose to her earlier in the year, because I underestimated her a little bit too much. She came out here ripping balls. You’ve really got to be consistent and put some pace back into your ball because of how hard she hits it.” – (Waters)
