Ste. Genevieve Paddle Battle: Join the Pickleball Frenzy Fighting for a Cure

Ste. Genevieve Paddle Battle: The 5th Annual Ste. Genevieve Paddle Battle for a Cure is returning to Missouri on March 8-9, 2025, at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center Progress Sports Complex. This year’s pickleball tournament, hosted by the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center brings together pickleball enthusiasts for a two-day event benefitting cancer research. Proceeds will go toward the Siteman Cancer Center, funding essential research and treatment initiatives. With gender doubles set for Saturday and mixed doubles on Sunday, the event promises competitive action for a worthy cause.

Tournament Format and Play

The format for the Paddle Battle will follow a round-robin style, ensuring multiple games for all participants. Depending on the size of the final bracket, matches will either be one game to 15 points or best two out of three to 11 points, with a requirement to win by two in both cases. Tournament organizers will use the Onix Fuse Orange ball, a popular choice in competitive play, while adhering to USA Pickleball rules. The director also holds the right to adjust brackets as necessary to accommodate registration numbers.

Registration and Event Details

The event’s registration fee is $40, with players allowed to enter up to three different events. Each registration includes unlimited event access, guaranteeing at least three games per event. Participants will also receive a complimentary tournament shirt and refreshments throughout the weekend. However, the event has specific guidelines: pets, outside food, grilling, or communal dishes will not be permitted on-site.

Venue and Additional Information

The tournament will take place indoors at the Progress Sports Complex, which features eight portable-net sport courts. Free parking will be available to all attendees. For those interested, refunds will be offered minus a $15 fee up until the close of registration. After that, no refunds will be issued.
