World Pickleball Tour Returns to Dallas: Don’t Miss Out on the Action

World Pickleball Tour Returns to Dallas: The World Pickleball Tour (WPT) is set to make a highly anticipated return to the Dallas area with the Dallas Challenger, scheduled for October 25-27, 2024. Taking place at the Oasis Pickleball Club in Rockwall, Texas, the event promises to deliver competitive excitement for amateur players looking to sharpen their skills and make a mark on the national stage.

Tournament Details: Registration and Format

Players can register for the event from January 1, 2024, until October 21, 2024, with an entry fee of $70. The pickleball tournament will feature skill and age brackets ranging from 3.0 to 5.0, accommodating participants aged 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+, with the option for 70+ players to register if applicable. Registration perks include a WPT player swag bag, which contains essential items such as a reusable tote, hydration and nutrition essentials, and a World Tour DRIFIT t-shirt.

The tournament will follow a Round Robin format, guaranteeing players eight matches, with games played to 11 and requiring a win by two points. This unsanctioned format allows for multiple events on the same day, giving players the opportunity to compete in additional skill or age categories, provided start times do not conflict.

Competitive Landscape: Gold Medalists and Championship Invitations

This year, all gold medalists from the tournament will receive invitations to the 2025 WPT Amateur Invitational Championships, where the nation’s best amateur players will compete for a share of a substantial $175,000 cash purse. Silver and bronze medalists will also secure spots on the waitlist for the 2024 championship event, enhancing the stakes for competitors at the Dallas Challenger.

Venue and Conditions: Oasis Pickleball Club

The tournament will be hosted at the Oasis Pickleball Club, boasting 42 outdoor hardcourts. As an outdoor tournament, the WPT has outlined an inclement weather policy, stating that every effort will be made to play matches despite weather conditions, with no indoor backup plan available. Participants are advised to be prepared for varying conditions, as all start times are subject to change.
