Hayden Patriquin and Federico Staksrud Step Closer to Glory at PPA Virginia Beach

Hayden Patriquin and Federico Staksrud: Hayden Patriquin and Federico Staksrud secured their place in the men’s doubles final with a thrilling comeback victory against No. 2 seeds JW Johnson and Dylan Frazier, winning 7-11, 11-6, 11-5. After dropping the first game on Humana Championship Court, the No. 3 seeds regrouped and found their rhythm as the match progressed.

Tight Start but a Strong Finish

Reflecting on their performance, Patriquin noted the team’s initial struggles.

“I think we were a little tight in the first game. We were missing a few dinks and leaving a couple balls high for JW, and that’s not usually good. We just had to lock in and play a little smarter in the second and third games.” – (Patriquin)

Their ability to adapt and improve was crucial in turning the tide of the match.

Unbeaten Together

With this win, Patriquin and Staksrud remain undefeated as a team, now just one victory away from claiming their second title of the year. The chemistry between the two is evident, with Staksrud stating,

“We’re feeling good. We have good chemistry: I know what [Hayden’s] gonna do, and he knows what I’m gonna do, which works well. Pickleball is so fast now that you need to have that understanding with your partner.” – (Staksrud)

Final Showdown Awaits

The dynamic duo will face off against Ben Johns and Collin Johns in the final, setting the stage for what promises to be an exhilarating championship match.
