The Pickleball Madness Tournament is gearing up for an exciting day of competition on October 19, 2024, at Veterans Park, located at 8850 Fairview Rd, Mint Hill, North Carolina, 28227.
Tournament Format
The pickleball tournament will feature a double elimination format, meaning that once a team loses, their highest possible placement is bronze. The main draw matches will adopt a best-of-three games structure, with each game played to 11 points and a win by two points. In the consolation rounds, each match will consist of one game to 15 points, again requiring a win by two points, except for the final match that determines third place.
Event Structure
For pickleball events with fewer than four teams in doubles, participants may be combined based on skill or age, ensuring a competitive experience. In cases where there are five teams or fewer in doubles, a round-robin format will be utilized to determine winners based on matches won, head-to-head results, and point differentials.
Registration and Partner Policies
Once registration closes, players who lose a partner must either replace them or withdraw from the tournament. The replacement partner must fit within the same skill or age group. Players may play down in age or up in skill. Any changes must be communicated to the registration contact by 6 PM the day before the competition.
Refund and Weather Policies
The cancellation deadline for refunds is October 10th, with a $25 withdrawal fee applied. No refunds will be issued after this date. Should weather or unforeseen circumstances arise, tournament organizers will strive to complete matches. If brackets are in progress when such issues occur, decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
Venue Details
Veterans Park boasts 14 outdoor hard pickleball courts with permanent and portable nets. Players will be using Franklin X-40 balls on a non-covered playing surface, and there are no parking fees.
