Centre president Ryan Sawatzky expressed excitement about advancing the project, with hopes to start indoor construction by next spring.

Sawatzky praised the community’s overwhelming support, noting, “We feel very, very fortunate about the level of support that we’ve received and the encouragement from everybody that we’ve talked to. The community spirit here has been second to none.” Integrity Group co-owner Shanna Groeneveld highlighted the company’s commitment to giving back, given its deep roots in the Okotoks area.

Mayor Tanya Thorn praised the donation, stating, “That is a tell of what makes our community so awesome and unique. We all work together for a common cause.” The $10-million project, funded through donations and grants, will be managed under a 30-year agreement with the town.
