Uptown’s Summer Pickleball Offer and Membership Milestone

Uptown’s Summer Pickleball Offer: Uptown has offered an enticing membership deal exclusively for VRPA members: just $5 per court per hour. To access this offer, members need to create a profile on CourtReserve and designate Uptown as their organization. With two well-maintained outdoor courts available, this summer presents an excellent opportunity for some enjoyable play. Uptown is also in the process of organizing free Intermediate mini-tournaments on Saturday mornings. Details will be announced soon.

Membership Milestone: Approaching 1000 Members

The membership count is nearing a significant milestone, with the total standing at 982 members in good standing. The rapid expansion of the sport continues to impress, though the current influx of new members might leave some feeling a bit overwhelmed. A warm welcome is extended to the new members, and gratitude is expressed to those who continue to support the Association.

Program Updates: Esquimalt Pickleball Centre’s Transition

The Esquimalt Pickleball Centre is set to revert to a curling rink, with the final day of pickleball programs scheduled for September 11th. Despite this transition, there are still openings for early September programs. Popular sessions such as Friday Night Social Play, Monday & Thursday Women’s Social Play, and 3.5 Partner Play are available.

VRPA Program Rollout: Acknowledging Liam McTavish

A noteworthy mention goes to the new Programmer, Liam McTavish, who has been instrumental in assisting members with the Fall program rollout. McTavish has handled sign-up issues with commendable diligence and positivity. Members are reminded to register for only one Instructional and one Non-Instructional program and to review the Sign-Up Policy.
