Vernon Pickleball Association Thrives with VanSpen’s Support

In a commendable act of community support, VanSpen Contracting Ltd., a Vernon-based construction company, has made a significant contribution to the Vernon Pickleball Association (VPA) by donating over $5,000 in materials and labor. This generous support aims to help complete the pickleball facility at Marshall Field, which has quickly risen to prominence as one of Canada’s top pickleball venues.

A Commitment to the Game

“We delivered a whole lot of product here, and we as a group will be playing here,” stated Heino Mann, a spokesperson for VanSpen, during the donation presentation.

Heino Mann was joined by company CEOs Nathan Spence and James Vander Hoek, emphasizing the company’s dedication not just to construction but to the vibrant local pickleball community.

Community Support from the VPA

The donation has left VPA members ecstatic. “Their donation helped us tons,” expressed VPA president Brent Bolin, who was accompanied by association members Don Friesen and Julie Varrie at the event.

The spirit of collaboration and community involvement is noticeable, showing the essential role of local partnerships in the growth of sports facilities.

Rally in the Valley Tournament Success

The impact of VanSpen’s generosity was felt recently during the VPA’s final tournament of 2024, the Rally in the Valley, which attracted nearly 300 competitors to the Marshall Field facility.

This event shows the success and popularity of the venue, thanks in large part to the contributions from dedicated community members and local businesses.
