Rally in The Rockies Pickleball Tournaments Begins September 7

Rally in The Rockies Pickleball Tournaments: Hosted by the Cranbrook Pickleball Club, the 2024 “Rally in the Rockies” is a non-sanctioned pickleball tournament taking place on September 7-8, 2024. Held at a picturesque location, the tournament features men’s and women’s doubles on September 7, and mixed doubles on September 8.

Tournament Format

  • Round Robin: Games to 15, win by 1. With 6 teams, each team plays 5 games. Fewer teams lead to adjusted games: 4 teams play 4 games, and 3 teams play 2 rounds of 3 games each.
  • Medal Rounds:
    • Single Pool: Top 2 teams compete for Gold/Silver; 3rd and 4th play for Bronze.
    • Double Pools: Winners of each pool play for Gold/Silver; losers play for Bronze.

Medal Matches

  • Bronze: 1 game to 15, win by 2.
  • Gold: Best 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2.

Events & Categories

  • Women’s & Men’s Doubles: Skill levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+ (Age 17+)
  • Mixed Doubles: Skill levels 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+ (Age 17+)

Registration Details

Both partners must register, sign the waiver, and pay in full. Ensure your Pickleball Canada membership and skill level are up-to-date.

  • Early Registration: Starts June 3, 2024, for Cranbrook Pickleball Club members.
  • Open Registration: Closes August 26, 2024, at 9:00 p.m.
  • Fees: $55 for one event; and $10 for a second event.

Additional Information:

  • Ball Used: Franklin X40 optic yellow
  • Paddles: USAPA-approved only
  • Clothing: Avoid wearing the same color as the ball.
  • Officiating: All medal matches will be refereed. Volunteers for refereeing are welcome.
