Indian Pickleball Teams Ready for Pickleball World Cup 2024: Ace in Peru

Indian Pickleball Teams Ready for Pickleball World Cup 2024: In a moment that’s sure to serve up some serious excitement, the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) has teamed up with Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) to announce their participation in 2024 Pickleball World Cup event. This epic showdown is set to start in Lima, Peru, from October 22nd to 27th, 2024. It’s a chance for India to shows its pickleball skill on a global stage, and the risks couldn’t be higher.

Team India Open Category Squad

Leading the charge in the Open Category is none other than Dhiren Patel, who’s set to captain a lineup featuring some of the best and brightest talents in Indian pickleball. Joining him are stars like Himansh Mehta, Suraj Desai, Rakshika Ravi, and Anshi Sheth.

After the nail-biting selection trials held in Ahmedabad, these nine players were chosen to represent India, with the hopes of bringing home some serious trophy.

Team India Seniors 50+ Category Squad

On the flip side, we have the Seniors 50+ Category, which boasts an experienced squad ready to take on the world. Nozer Amalsdiwala, Kiran Salian, Bela Kotwani, and Sujay Parekh will represent this seasoned group. Pranav Kohli, the founder of PWR, couldn’t hide his enthusiasm:

Suryaveer Singh Bhullar, the President of IPA, also shared his thoughts on this monumental occasion:

“It is a proud moment for the Indian Pickleball Association to be invited to send two teams to the World Cup. We have full faith in these players and hope they will bring glory to India.”-(Suryaveer Singh Bhullar)

PWR’s Expanding Horizons

PWR isn’t just sitting on its achievements. In July 2024, they launched the PWR World Series (PWS) and the PWR World Tour in Dubai, with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) gearing up to host the first PWR World Series in February 2025.

They also recently started the PWR DUPR Indian Tour & League, a grand pickleball tour and league for India that promises to elevate the sport even further. World No. 1 tennis player Andre Agassi is set to visit India in January 2025 to officially kick off the PWR DUPR Indian Tour & League.
